One of most eagerly awaited projects of Kamal Haasan, Indian 2, might be delayed as the VFX development of the movie was delayed. According to reports, Indian 2.0, which was originally scheduled to release in the latter half of this 2018, might take longer to hit the screens.
The project was launched in Taiwan on India’s Republic Day, Shankar launched the film by lighting a sky lantern.
The ace director Shankar will direct Kamal Haasan after 22 years, the last movie they came together was Indian which was released in 1996.
The industry buzz is that lady superstar Nayanthara is in talks to play the female lead in the project.
Shankar’s next movie is Enthiran: The Robot; the science fiction film made for a budget of 450 crore rupees is the most expensive Indian film made to date.
Indian 2 which saw Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar as the female leads was a critical and commercial hit. The story of a freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights corruption earned Kamal several accolades, including the National Award for best actor. The film was also selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars.
