RK Nagar Bypoll is the talk of all over Tamil Nadu, after the sad demise of Former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and the nomination filings for the same created much more drama sequences on last few days.
After day-long twists and turns, the Returning Officer of RK Nagar bypoll, on Tuesday late night rejected actor Vishal Krishna’s nomination for the December 21 by poll .
According to the officer, the nomination filed by Vishal (as he is popularly known) was rejected as two of the proposers had said they had not proposed the actor’s name.
Today (Thursday), Actor Vishal met the media persons and said, “Deepan and Sumathi are currently untraceable.” “Giving security to them is my priority now. Filing nomination or reversal of rejection is secondary to me” he added.
Notably, Deepan and Sumathi are two of the ten proposers in Vishal’s nomination papers whose signatures were claimed to be falsified.
Earlier, the official sources said that Sumathy and Deepan, appeared before them in person and claimed that it was not their valid signatures (in the nomination papers).
A total of 145 people had filed their nomination papers of that 72 nominations have been accepted and 73 have been rejected. The last date for the withdrawal of the candidature is December 7.
The RK Nagar seat fell vacant following the death of Jayalalithaa on December 5, 2016.
