‘Padman’ new motion poster: Sonam Kapoor teaches Akshay Kumar to pronounce the word

The upcoming Bollywood movie PadMan is based on Twinkle Khanna’s book, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad,  which is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a Tamil Nadu-based social activist. And this man revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine.

In the movie PadMan,  Akshay Kumar is all set to don the garb of a ‘superhero’ for the aam aadmi of India.

The makers of the movie already released two posters and several looks from the film, and the 50-year-old Bollywood action star has now treated the fans with a motion poster.

In the video clip, shared on his Twitter account, we can hear co-star Sonam Kapoor teaching Akshay the spelling of ‘PadMan’.

The ‘Rustom’ star captioned the video as, “P-A-D + M-A-N = PAD MAN. It’s that simple 🙂 Coming to you, this Republic Day, 26.01.18@PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki #PadMan.”

The last film of Akshay Kumar, The Khiladi of Bollywood, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ in which his character was  fighting against open defecation, and now, he is all set to lend his voice to another social cause.

The actor will picturaise the character of Arunachalam Muruganantham in the movie, who invented low-cost sanitary pads and fought for menstrual hygiene.

The movie is directed by R Balki, and also stars Radhika Apte in a pivotal role.

The film is slated to release on the Republic Day and will clash with Sidharth Malhotra-Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Aiyaary’ at the box office.
