London,Oct12:Sir Alex Ferguson’s former daughter-in-law has been charged with drug-driving.
Nadine Ferguson, mum to his granddaughter, is said to have tested positive for cocaine when pulled over by cops in December.
It comes eight years after Nadine, 38, nearly lost her son in a car crash. She is due before Manchester JPs next month and faces six months in jail and a £5,000 fine.
Nadine wed ex-Man United boss Sir Alex’s son Darren in 2003. The pair had daughter Grace, now 15, together and Darren, 45, raised her son Charlie, now 18, as his own.
They divorced in 2007 and the following year footie manager Darren was fined £1,500 after he admitted attacking Nadine in the driveway of Sir Alex’s home.
In 2009 Nadine and ten-year-old Charlie were involved in a horrific school run car crash. Charlie was left in a coma, while Nadine faced having her leg amputated. Both made a full recovery.
In 2012 she was at the centre of a scandal over her Lovern charity, set up to help the hospital which saved Charlie.
