She’s been working on her fourth studio album since 2012.
But it seems that the long-awaited LP could go on the back-burner as Natasha Bedingfield will no doubt be busy planning for the arrival of her first child.
Revealing that she’s pregnant with her first child, the 35-year-old singer announced that she felt like she was excited to “embrace this huge life-change”.
Breaking the news in an interview with The Sun’s Bizarre column, the British chart-topper said she was delighted to announce she and husband Matt Robinson are expecting their first child.
Speaking to the paper, she hinted the happy news may have come as a shock at first, as she felt becoming a mum was a “way off”.
She explained: “Becoming a mum is something I’ve always dreamed of but for a long time I felt it was way off in the distance.
“Now the bump is starting to really show, it’s sinking in that this is really happening.”
However, the actress was full of excitement about her first pregnancy, as she admitted: “I’m so excited to embrace this huge life-change. And Matt is super supportive.”
The singer has left her native West Sussex behind and now lives in California with her husband, whom she married in 2009.
Natasha’s debut album Unwritten went double platinum in 2004, with its titular track being one of the most famous songs of the Noughties (famously immortalised by MTV’s The Hills).
Single These Words released in 2004 wen straight to number one in the UK, and following on from her second album N.B.I Pocketful of Sunshine in 2007 she was nominated for a Grammy.
While she hasn’t released an album since 2010, Natasha has been busy with other music projects and last year toured with Night Of the Proms.
