Jordan Peele Nazi hunter drama: The Hunt on TV by Sonar Entertainment
Seven months after signing an overall TV development deal, Jordan Peele has lined up his first project.Peele is set to executive produce the drama The Hunt, a 1970s-set Nazi hunter drama from Sonar Entertainment. David Weil is on board to pen the script and exec produce alongside Peele. A network is not yet attached; insiders stress the project is already drawing interest from several potential bidders.Inspired by true events, The Hunt follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters in 1970s America as they set out on a quest for revenge and justice — tracking and killing hundreds of Nazis who, with the unconscionable help of the U.S. government, escaped justice and embedded themselves in American society.

Sonar Entertainment, where Peele has a first-look deal, is attached to produce the potential series, along with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. Sources say the package started going around town following the Charlottesville, Va., neo-Nazi protest and counter protest.

Peele starred for five seasons alongside Keegan Michael-Key on the Comedy Central hit Key and Peele, and also spent five seasons on the sketch show MADtv. More recently, the comedian/actor had a recurring role on Noah Hawley’s FX anthology Fargo. The TV deal comes after the success of horror-farce Get Out, which was written by Peele and served as his feature directorial debut. His film credits also include writing and co-starring in last year’s Keanu.

Peele and Weil are repped by CAA.
