Prasoon Joshi-led CBFC has reportedly banned the movie titled X Zone, directed and produced by Faisal Kapadi as it is loaded with s*x and sleaze. This is the first film to get the no-go certificate under his term and his reason to ban this film appears to be genuine.
According to Central Board of Film Certification sources, graphic scenes of sex and nudity including, apparently, a frontal nudity shot of actress Hrishita Bhatt who once was a warrior alongside Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan in Santosh Sivan’s Asoka. After that Harshitaa featured in many movies including Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Ab Tak Chhappan and Jigyaasa among others.
Harishta made her Telugu debut with Nithiin and Genelia D’Souza starrer ‘Raam’ in 2006, directed by N.Shankar and produced by Sudhakar Reddy under the banner of Sri Venkataramana Pictures. Later this film was dubbed into Hindi as “Jeene Do”.
When acclaimed lyricist Prasoon Joshi replaced Pahlaj Nihalani as the CBFC chief, it was assumed that all the Bollywood movies would easily make it through and be granted the certificate, regardless of the content. However, X Zone has become the first Bollywood film to be banned under the new CBFC team.
According to the latest update, CBFC decided to ban X Zone for explicitly featuring sex and nudity, which included Hrishita Bhatt baring her front. Sources say that sleaze isn’t allowed to pass and that this rule won’t change. Prasoon Joshi recently passed Stephen King’s ‘It‘ with no cuts and this shows that Censor board is indeed changing for the better.
