Kochi: Mollywood Celebrities seem to be making a beeline to the Aluva sub jail here in Kochi, to visit embattled actor Dileep, who was arrested for allegedly plotting the February 17 actress attack.
The popular faces spotted in the vicinity of the jail Thursday were actor Vijayaraghavan and producer M Ranjith
Earlier, scriptwriter Benny P. Nayarambalam, actor Sudheer, film-producers Antony Perumbavur, Bijoy Chandran, actor Jayaram, film director Renjith, actor Harisree Asokan and Kalabhavan Shajon had visited Dileep in jail.
Actor-turned-politician Ganesh Kumar after visiting Dileep urged people to support him. He pointed out that there was no point in isolating the actor as he was yet to be pronounced guilty by the court.
However, Malayalam actress Sajitha Madathil had slammed the celebrities for visiting the actor at Aluva sub jail. She flayed them for not even bothering to call up or inquire about the victim actress.
The Angamaly magistrate court had last week extended the actor’s judicial custody till September 16.
Earlier, the Kerala High Court had denied his bail plea after considering the evidence against the actor produced by the prosecution. The prosecution argued that the actor was a highly influential person capable of tampering with the evidence and influencing witnesses if he was granted bail.
The police have claimed that the conspiracy to abduct and assault the actress in a moving car on February 17 as well as videotape the crime was hatched by Dileep.
