Mumbai: Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pedneker starring ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ has been the talk of the town since its inception.
The Movie based on a social cause released in theatres worldwide this Friday, reports suggest that it has had a decent opening.
According to a recent report on BoxofficeIndia.com, the early estimates of the film states that it has earned as much as Rs 11.50 crore nett on the first day of its release.
‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is among 2017’s highest opening day box-office grosses and is also among the few films to cross the 10-crore mark on the first day.
The film directed by Shree Narayan Singh revolves around a love story of a woman who leaves her husband on the first day of their marriage after discovering that he doesn’t have a toilet. He desperately sets out on a mission to win back his love by standing up to the age-old traditions and values of India.
A day before the release, Akshay Kumar shared his feelings and thoughts about this enriching journey coming to end with a Facebook post. Bhumi Pednekar followed in Aki’s lead and thanked him for making it a “special experience”.
The film that also stars Divyendu, Sudhir Pandey and Anupam Kher has been receiving good reviews from fans and critiques alike.
