Mumbai: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) done it again. The moral policing just doesn’t seem to be crossed off their agenda.
On this time, the scissors of CBFC turned against the movie is Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’.
The CBFC has suggested the removal of 48 scenes from the movie ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ in order to get a certificate.
Last time, there was a uproar across the country, when the authorities refused to certify ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha, a movie written and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha.
Earlier CBFC also refused to certify one Malayalam film ‘Ka Bodyscapes’, it’s story is based on homosexuality. With 48 cuts, there would probably be nothing left in it to be screened and released for the audiences.
Anyway, this is not the first time that the movie ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ has ran into trouble. Desi Boyz actress Chitrangada Singh had walked out from the movie, when she accused the director of using ‘unparliamentary language’ while asking her to do ‘intimate scenes’. Chitrangada was replaced by Bidita Bag, who is known for her inclination towards socio-political films.
The casting director Sanjay Chouhan too made it to the headlines, when he said he couldn’t find anyone as fair and handsome with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the ‘Black Friday’ star. The actor had expressed his displeasure on at this insensitive comment on Twitter.
The movie Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is set to release on August 25, that is if they comply to the Censor Board’s ludicrous demands.
