Kochi: National Film Award winner and Dileesh Pothan is all set to introduce a new face in his directorial next Mollywood movie Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’.
Fahadh Faasil plays the lead role of the entertainer movie, will have Mumbai-based Malayali Nimisha Sajayan playing the heroine.
Asking Nimisha Sajayan on her entry in Malayalam movie industry, the actress says: “It is unbelievable and exciting. I auditioned for the role and got selected.” Nimisha Sajayan will play Sreeja, a girl who has to move from Cherthala to Kasargod. She soon finds her life criss-cross with a local police station.
However, for Nimisha Sajayan, the Mumbai-brought-up girl, getting under the skin of Sreeja wasn’t a hard task, though the character is another extreme of her.
“There is nothing common between me and Sreeja, but the director was so clear about his character. He told me what he expected from me as an actor. So, I had a clear picture,” says Nimisha, who can’t hide her glee after seeing music composer Bijibal’s comment about her acting prowess on Facebook.
Though she may be the only debutante among the crew, Nimisha says they made her comfortable on the sets. “I was initially tensed, but the team, including cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, director Dileesh Pothan and Fahadh Faasil made me so comfortable. They were willing to go through all the retakes I took, initially,” she added.
But, is there a romantic track between her and Fahadh in the movie? “That’s a suspense. I can’t reveal much about their relation, but it is a very performance-oriented role,” says Nimisha. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum will hit the screens this Eid.
Though her first movie is yet to be released, Nimisha has already signed her next. She will be playing a significant role in editor-turned-director Ajit Kumar’s debut directorial venture starring Shane Nigam.
“The shooting for the movie has begun. This is a Rajeev Ravi production and he offered me the role after he saw my work in ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’. This is an entertainer and I will have a romantic track here,” says Nimisha.
