Kolkata: Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy directed ‘Posto’, the family drama produced jointly by Eros International and Windows, has witnessed a historic opening of Rs 1 crore in just four days since its release in Bengal on May 12, officials at Eros international said today.
‘Posto’ stars Padma Bhushan awardee Soumitra Chatterjee, Lily Chakraborty, Jisshu Sengupta, Mimi Chakraborty, Paran Bandopadhyay among others.
Following consecutive successes of their previous films—‘Belaseshe’ and ‘Praktan’—director duo Shiboprosad and Nandita continue the legacy of creating blockbuster films known for their mass appeal.
‘Posto’ has opened to packed theaters and continues to receive accolades from audience.
Eros is releasing the film in an approximate 100 screens nationally (outside of Kolkata), including newer markets, on May 19 which marks the biggest Bengali film release till date.
Commenting on the pan India release, Nandu Ahuja, Senior VP, India Theatrical, Eros International Media Ltd, said, ‘History repeats itself as Posto, our third film with Shiboprosad and Nandita, is well on its way to become another blockbuster after Belaseshe and Praktan.
