Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy starrer ‘Bogan’ had released two days back. The pirated copy of this movie is on FB Live now.
The producer of the movie who noted the live streaming informed us about this, says Lakshman the director of the movie. He spoke to India Live Today Movies about the incident and and about piracy.
‘We take all steps to prevent piracy, before the release of the film. We have found many websites that handle the pirated copies of movies and have made arrangements to block them. One of the websites, Tamil Rockers challenged us. The film ‘Bogan’ came live on Facebook suddenly after the release. This is a sad condition”.
‘I have some recommendations before the producer’s council. As per my idea, there should be a separate DVD counter along with ticket counter sales at all theatres screening the movie. If the viewer needs DVD, sell it to them at a discounted rate of Rs 40. Through this facility, I think that we can curb the practice of piracy. The income from the DVD sales will go to the producer of the film’ says Lakshman.
“A question arises in our mind asto why Hollywood genre movies are not made in India. We screen a film in theatre after so much turmoil and trouble. A huge portion of our income is reduced by the movie pirates. If this stalemate continues, no one would dare to produce any movie in coming generations’ added the director.
